For the sport of it.

I went to a basketball game to look for some new blog material (that’s the excuse I’m using, but I really like basketball especially when I know all the players...and 2 of them were my mine). It was a “home” game ---everyone playing was from Wishek. So...Wishek won. At one point or another I had seen all the kids play when they were in their prime. Needless to say they’ve been out of their prime for sometime now. Oh, one of the Wald boys had a terrific play, under, around, through and over, you know the kind of play I’m talking about. But mostly it was just good clean fun. I heard lots of cheers yelling “ go daddy” and I saw a few hugs too.

But the real competition was in my livingroom a few hours before the game. Paige, Kellan and Dylan (Chad’s kids) had a sit-up and push-up competition, now that was a real nail bitter. Dylan, you could say, was the big winner with 210 sit-ups and 70 push-ups. Paige started out the game with 100 sit-ups. I did notice that it made a big difference who went first. And Dylan was the sport who just tied Kellan with 210 sit-ups rather than do 211 like I think he could have done. The boys are in Kindergarten and Paige is in 2nd grade. I’m not kidding, that was the real score. I don’t think there was any basketball player (dad Chad or even Uncle Mitch) who could do 210 sit-ups.

Kya in the picture still thinks her Dad is #1, wether he did any sit-ups, scored 10 points, or wore pink socks.

What a good looking couple!!! I especially like the coordinating pink. I tell you what, I haven't had that much fun playing ball in a long time. That game was a lot of fun, I was very impressed with the span of ages of the players. I haven't seen the Wald's in a very long time. Little did I know they could still out-play everyone on the court. Bob was the leading scorer with 20pts! And I think Tim got the play of the night with his fancy behind the back bit. Show off.

Pink, man I would have welched on that bet.

It was a heck of a lot of fun. Of course I wanted to win so the air balls were frustrating; I had 1 myself.

It was great to see everyone after the game and talk to them about all they have done over the past 20 years. How old am I anyway?

WHAT A CONTEST!!!!! I can't believe those kids. They were bored so I mentioned a push-up contest, thinking they would laugh and proceed to play with other toys. Nope, they thought it was a great idea. I thought maybe we would get 30 or 40 push-ups, as the boys have done them for jail time in the past. I would never has guessed 50-70. I certainly didn't imagine they would do 100-210 sit-ups either. They are just plain crazy. The most impressive thing to me was the fact that they could all walk and move the next day.
