The Hand Off
Yup, I'm trading off my fishing partner for a new one. And here's the picture that shows the hand off, and 1 of the 2 big big fish we caught. And it was a partnership for sure. Let me tell you about it.
Well it all started when grandbaby "M" said she had to go potty. And after an unsuccessfull attempt to pee "out in nature", we tried to pee in an unused ice cream pail inside.
But just then grandbaby "M" knocked her water bottle (just like Gma's) down into one of the six 9 inch holes we had drilled in the Zack Shack fish house. Then the rattle reel alerted us that a fish was on the hook and trying to get away. Well, my fishing partner thought the rattle reel rattled cuz grandbaby "M"; with her snow pants around her ankles; had knocked against the rattle, but she hadn't. And then the race was on. She grabbed the fishing line unwinding as the fish tried to get a way. I grabbed the then naked butt. Grandbaby "M" reached to grab her escaping Dasani water. And out of the hole popped the big big fish flapping to get back into the water. But as cooler heads prevailed the fish was ours to catch. And once released from the new red triple hook grandbaby "M" was thrilled with her adventure.
Well thrilled might be pushing it alittle. She might have been a bit dissappointed to find that fishing in North Dakota in February didn't include sunglasses and a boat.
She did eat fish for supper that day, after we cleaned off the "goo" and cooked it. So....I am thinking if my old fishing partner can't go fishing one day.....well I'll take my new fishing partner!
