A Few Years + 6 weeks = 997 pieces
Well here's my finished puzzle. I just love the picture and the subject. The horses in the picture remind me of some horses we have owned. My favorite stud, Mr Valmont (whom we called Skipper); a young gelding, Vegas Playboy; a real nice mare, Cody Barred; and my favorite horse of all time (a leopard appaloosa) Dragon Moon Fire.....I called her Dundee. After a nationally known barrel horse I saw on tv.
Dundee is a wonderful horse to ride on a warm summer evening. She gets a little jumpy, she has even been know to tip me off a few times. But she is wonderful, she has a real smooth, stretched out trot -I tell everyone she rides like a cadilac. She isn't the prettiest horse, but she always gets everyones attention with her striking color. I have bought young beautiful colts in hopes of replacing her. But I always go back that cadilac ride.
So, thanks ma for the puzzle, sorry it took so long to finish. Next I will try and glue it together and mount it for framing. So nobody else tries to put it together with the frustration I had in learning I had lost 3 pieces.
Next, well I did get another puzzle for Christmas ......and I have a Cross Stitch picture ....and I found 2 more books from the Left Behind series ....and I have the DaVinci Code to read ....and I could go to Arizona and soak up some sun ....and gee I better get busy.

Great picture. Don't feel bad abou the missing pieces, Kellan and Dylan have the same problem when they finish a puzzle. I loved to hear about the horses. Brought back some memories. I still remember putting the haulter on Vegas and walking him around the barn as a colt. He was a beauty.
