Feelin' Groovy
The Simon and Garfunkel cd I just bought has a song on it called "Feeling Groovy." Does anybody remember this song? The cd is a remake or a re-release of an album from the late 60's when there were flower children singing of peace and love not war. The Feeling Groovy song has a line that goes "hello lamppost whatcha doin’... I’ve come to watch your flowers growin’"
Which brings me to what I’ve been doing this summer. Myself and seven other Qwest current and retired employees have volunteered to water the plants hangin’ on the lampposts on main street in Jamestown. The flowers are absolutely beautiful. The purple, fushia, pink and white petunias are thick with blossoms and many hang like carpet. A magnificent sight.
Like the Simon and Garfunkel song concludes "lookin’ for fun and feelin’ groovy". Here’s pictures of our Qwest volunteer bunch - Kelly, Colleen & Ray, Bob & Andrew, Charlie, Ty with Pam & Autumn, Wayne, Dave and myself. (Not all of the pictures fit on this post so check out the Qwest Volunteer post for the rest of the pictures.) I’ll keep humming ......slow down you’re moving to fast ...got to make the moment last....

Way to go Deb! Everyone loves flowers. You may have brightened someones bad day! They look beautiful. Check out the Journal from this week and see Crosby's flowers and who waters them.
Thanks for the heads up, they use 400 gallons of water (we use 200). They have had the pots 3 years (our 1st). And they have just 2 people doing all the watering...don't get any ideas team! Some evenings it seems like such a chore, I'm really lucky to have a bunch watering, nobody gets to burned out.
