Hangover Helpers

Here's some Hangover Helpers.....I've used them and so can you. Not that I've ever had a hang over. I've usally said I've never had a hang over. These are a few of my secret tips to avoid them, or cut them off at the pass.

1. Get out and get moving. (North Dakota fresh air is a big help at clearing you head.)
2. Microwave a 1/4 lemon to make it juicier and rub this in your arm pits. (Also helps with clearing your head.)
3. A steady diet of salty sunflower seeds and real Coke-a-cola. (Helps with dehydration.)

Thanks Medora

I sat at the edge of the bed ready to take off the shoes that are a little to wide and a little to long. The shoes that I now wear every waking moment since the car accident. And I see out of the corner of my eye my favorite little white china tea cup, with it's vanilla candle sitting nicely inside. It's sitting perfectly on top of my alarm clock.
The last time I saw it, it was being knocked off my night stand by my crutches as I clumpsly tried to get up off the bed. Even now I can only faintly remember yesterday when little Medora asked me "Grandma what happened here?"
But little kind hearted Medora must have replaced the tea cup and it's candle back where it belonged. And now, the evening of the day I returned her to her mother, here I sit at the edge of the bed. A little sad, with tears in my eyes. Sad that she not going to be here in the morning to greet me with her quick smile and her dancing brown eyes. A nice ending to the 6 days of watching My Little Pony movies and acting out rocking horse adventures. Thanks for the visit Medora.

Saved by McDonalds

Do you need a break? Need to run off a sugar high? McDonalds to the rescue! That's what we did Saturday. Had a Big Mac, pop, and a few "Happy Meals", and off and running we were. And what a blast---run, jump, giggle, you name it we did it. Well not really "we", I watched and took pictures of all the fun. Oh to be a kid again! Run like the wind, be as high as the sky, laugh out loud. - Well back to reality, tv, video games and the computer.

On the move again

Well I'm on the move again. And the flight was OK, just ok. And now I'm in St Cloud. I'm "Grand Ma" in charge. I've got 3 grandkids here. Paige (little 7 yr old angel), Kellan (guy 1 of a 6yr old team), Dylan (guy 2 of the team). And I'm not really in charge -they are. I am just here to watch so they don't kill each other. ANd I'm the taxis driver. Don't know my way around but I have a map. A map with a little coke stain - or is it ketchup, it's road ready any way. WISH ME LUCK, THIS COULD BE RUFF.

Sitting by the Pool?

Ok I'm not sitting by the pool all day every day. We took a day trip to a little city called Raw Hide. And we found that it doesn't open till 5pm. So...as long as we're out and about and there's a Casino right in view, off we go.
And anybody who knows me know's I not a big gambler. But, there I was in frount of the 5c machines. So I invested a whole $1 and I was suddenly up a bunch and after I started to loose I cashed out. The ticket said $9.90 ----Wow I can't wait to get home and tell my old man. Last time he and I went out playing the 1 armed bandits we split $1 between us and after about 15 minutes we came out ahead by 40c He's never going to believe I made $9.90 , well really I made $8.90. I can't wait to see the look on his face!

I-O-U-1 Joaquin

Well, I'm off to Arizona for a little R and R. My son dropped me off at the frount door of the airport and left me there before I could change my mind.
And the next thing I new I'm aboard a U S Airway air bus. Along with 150 or so other nuts flying south to the land of the sun. Quickly things changed , the safety fim didn't work -that should have been a sign. I was froze in my seat. And I turned and looked at the young handsome black haired fellow sitting beside me. It appeared he was froze in his seat too. He and I along with 4 other were the lucky chosen 6 to be seated in the very last row of sears on the plane.
Being in the last row of seats on the plane meant the rest of the plane was up in the air and we were still struggling to get off the ground. (Wait for me I whispered to myself).
My ears were popping as I remembered advise I got from Irene last Sunday. She said "if you're alittle afraid just put the Lord in a seat on the plane." Oh boy, I AM in trouble. The stewardesses had said over the intercom that the plane was filled to capacity. I couldn't see any seats for "my Lord." And with me still in the very last seat all I could think about was the bible had said that the last shall be first and the first shall be last.
And now I know for sure I'm going to die. And then the safety film starts. And lo and behold another announcement. "We will have a onboard film" WOW! Great! So I purchased a $5 set of head phones. And me and Joaquin we walking the line with Johnny Cash.
So between Joaquin and myself medication of high doses of ginger worked! I wasn't air sick. The 3 hour flight went fast and the next thing I knew we were landing. It seemed the back of the plane landed first! The Lord was right...the last are first. I owe you one.....you and Joaquin.
