Birthday Blues

Well, I had another Birthday, boo hoo. I know it's just a number, but I remember when people my age were old. I can't drink like I used to. I can exercise like I used to. I can't work like I used to. When I was young I was happy. When I was young I was a lot of things. Now, I'm just like the "old" people. I knit, quilt, coffee with buds, watch tv and complain. And complain I do!! Geez people >quit comparing yourselves to your neighbors. Quit cutting in line at the grocery store. Stop running stop signs. Stopping waiting for a hand out, and that encludes stop going every function that gives free food. Don't you watch the news and hear of all the people who get sick at those "free for all" things?
I'm gonna start this year out right. I'm gonna say what I think AND do what I want. So move over neighbor I don't care what your yard looks like! I don't care if your man won't sleep with you any more. I don't care if I've gained a few pounds.
I've lived this long and now it's my turn, so look out >>here I come, like it or not!

My flower pot

Well, a few weeks ago I went out to water my plants out on the porch and to my suprise I had a bird nest in the pot.

So, I went onto my Facebook account and put out a shout to everyone "what do I do now" "to water or not to water."

And my school buddy commented back and said keep watering -just don't get the eggs wet.

So I did just that. And a couple of days ago when I went out to water, there they were. A mama bird and her 2 babies as proud as peacocks!

Now the babies have feathers and the old man told me pretty quick they would fly the coop/nest.

I went out in my Sunday duds and took a few pictures with my digital camera. I think they turned out pretty cool. I twisted and turned the pot, and they didn't really care.

I have been able to touch her and she is really pretty tame.

The mama is a pretty Morning Dove, grey with pink legs. I looked it up in a bird book and they are a cousin to the pigeon family. The babies have feathers that are brown with black tips. They are not to pretty, and look a bit oily. There beaks are just as large as mama's so they look weird. Babies only a mother could love.

My granddaughter Alexis came over tonight and said she learned in science class they will not use a bird house if it's put out in the tree they are used to nesting in. So thanks to the old man they moved there nesting spot to the porch.

It really has been fun to watch and I hope you enjoy my pictures.
